- sansalvadorensis. Camponotus (Myrmocladoecus) planus var. sansalvadorensis Wheeler, W.M. 1924a: 119, fig. 27 (w.m.) ECUADOR (Galapagos Is).
- Type-material: 6 syntype minor workers, 5 syntype males.
- Type-locality: Ecuador: Galapagos Is, James I. (= Santiago I.), 5.iv.1923 (no collector’s name; “some of the members of the expedition”).
- Type-depository: MCZC.
- Subspecies of planus: Wheeler, W.M. 1935g: 45; Linsley & Usinger, 1966: 177; Kempf, 1972a: 55; Bolton, 1995b: 122; Herrera, Tocora, et al. 2024: 168.
- Distribution: Ecuador (Galapagos).
